My last day at Orbital is tomorrow... I say that with a complete mix of emotions. I've worked there for nine years now, straight out of college. Most of that time has been fulfilling and enjoyable. Only the last couple of years have been harder to deal with due to new management in my department. But I will miss all of the friends that I've made and the life that I've created at Orbital. I do look forward to the new experiences and relationships I will make when I start my new job at Northrop Grumman at the end of the month.
Along with this change, Patrick recently got a new job in Beltsville, MD, and is living with friends during the week so he doesn't have an insane commute. This means that I have both kids on my own (sometimes with my parents help) during the weeks and Patrick comes home on the weekends. This has been a real challenge, especially with Ethan's sleep issues and Katelyn's countless tantrums. Besides all of this additional responsibility, I just miss my husband and friend.
But this is just temporary - as soon as our house sells (it is going on the market next week) and we are able to get a new house in MD, our family will be back together for good. So the current difficulties will all be worth it in the end.
